Dog Show

So this weekend Mom and I were entered in a dog show (Saturday and Sunday). The rally Course on Saturday was not a good course, and the signs were too close together. The first sign was a moving down, and I literally took one step to the sign. To make matters worse Gracie had already decided that she didn't feel like doing rally that day. When I told her to down she looked at me then looked around the ring and refused to down. The judge finally told me to just move on, so I did. Gracie stayed about two steps behind me the whole time and did everything else slowly and half heartily. When I left the ring I figured I had gotten an NQ, but some how Gracie got a 74 (barely qualifying). There were only two other people in the class so I got a 3rd place ribbon. Today was a lot better. Gracie did everything she was supposed to, and we took 1st place with a score of 97!!! We lost points because Gracie was a bit slow on some of the stuff, but all and all she did awesome today. (dogs that get a ribbon also get a toy)

Braces (and other things)

So I had to go to the orthodontist on Thursday... My orthodontist said that they had to put two wires on the top and the bottom now instead of just one. Then he also said that they were just doing the final touches!!! =] So what that mean is that I should be able to get my braces off in 3 or 4 months. I can't wait!!! Sorry, no pictures. I really don't feel like waiting 20 minutes for them to load. :/ So about Westside... The school is ok, and I have made several new friends. However school is school and there is not much to say about that. As you know my birthday is Oct. 13 (I know it's early to be talking about it), and I am planning to have another birthday slumber party this year. I am planning to have it on Oct. 23... Also I have entered Gracie in the rally show on Oct. the 17th and 18th!!! Maybe this time I will actually do all of the signs instead of getting NQ for missing one. hmmm... I think that sums up everything...

Gracie and the Fresh Green Beans

As you all know mom have a garden and she always gets some good stuff out of it. Well today she picked green bean. She cut the stems off and occasionally gave the dogs one. Gracie loved them!!! She looked funny eating them though because they didn't fit in mouth properly.

Prom

Yeah the 8th graders get to go to a prom at the end of the year. The cost is eight dollars. I had to borrow $5 from mom to go because I only had $3. Anyways, it was so much fun! I mostly hung out with Cheyenne (she is my best friend). I didn't dance though because I don't dance. And in case you are wondering I didn't have a "date". Mom was chaperoning the prom and won't let me have one. (Not that I actually wanted one!!! LOL!!!). The picture of the girl in the pink dress with the brownish hair is Cheyenne. The girl in the other pink dress with the black hair is Shay. And last, but not least the girl in the red is Becca. The black shoes are the ones I wore to the prom.

Dental Pain

I had to go get a baby tooth pulled today. It was my last baby tooth, and it didn't fall out because the permanent tooth that was supposed to push it out came in behind it. The novocain has started to ware off, and my gums are sore. The roots on the baby tooth were a lot longer than I had expected. I was also given a list of instruction of how to care for the spot were the tooth was pulled. Tomorrow I have to swish with some salt water. That will probably sting pretty bad. I also have to be careful not to get food in the hole where the tooth was. This one I don't completely understand, but I am not supposed to drink out of straws until the hole is completely healed up.

Six Flags

This week is spring break. Barry and I went to six flags in Atlanta, Georgia. We both bought season passes since we only live two hours away from the park. The regular tickets are $40 and season passes are $60; so if we go one more time to six flags we have gone enough times to make the tickets worth it. Anyways, the trip was tons of fun. My favorite ride Goliath. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwMCKiUzU-s here is a link so you can watch the ride!!! It was SO awesome!!! The ride is big so I couldn't really get a good picture of it. I also took a picture of the Bat mobile and a really cool water fountain.

Shabbach Youth Trip

Friday through Sunday this week was the Shabbach trip to Myrtle Beach. We left the church at 7:00 am and Friday and got back at 7:30 pm Sunday. It was so much fun!!! We stayed at the Crown Reef Hotel, and our rooms faced the ocean. We went to 3 services while we were down there. (one each day) We would have praise and worship for an hour, then the preacher would preach for an hour, and then we would have another hour of praise and worship. I now it sounds like a long time, but it really didn't seem that long. Friday we played Putt Putt, but I was horrible at it. Then Saturday we went to the Mirror Maze. I went in with Hanna and Chelsea, but we got lost and Andrew had to show us how to get out. From the Mirror Maze we went to the Mall and shopped. Sunday we went to the outlet for a couple hours and I bought myself a new jacket. The Bus ride home was a lot of fun. I got to chat with some people that I never really got a chance to meet. The Third picture is of my friends Hope and Jake. The last picture is of my friends Lauren and Hope (again).

The Time is Near

Well, as you can see Noel is getting very big. She doesn't even seem like the small helpless chick that I rescued from an icy grave. She has grown and gotten stronger. Almost all of her feathers have come in and I have seen her fly once. Once she knows how to fly she will have to go back to her chicken family outside. The last thing for me and mom to do is get her a little more used to the cold weather. She is used to about 70 degrees, but it goes down to the 20's at night here. I am not going to put her outside until I think she can handle the cold. So over the next week or so we will make her box colder so she is more used to the cold when it is time to let her go. Unfortunately, I think once we put her out in the chicken pen she won't have anything to do with us anymore. None of are chickens care about us. They never come near us, but even if Noel decides to be that way it will be ok. At least I know I saved her life and raised her so she could have a nice chicken life.

Chickie Bad Hair Day

Noel is having a very bad hair day!!! LOL!!! All of her feathers are coming in, but she still has some of her little Chickie fluff. At least Barry knows the proper way to hold the chicken!!! LOL!!! We even introduced Noel to the fake chickens on top of the computer. She found them to be very interesting. Charlie put his head on top of the bed so he could get a better look at the chicken. He had the expression, "I was not going to eat her, I just wanted to taste her". Sorry Charlie, but the Chicken is NOT up for grabs!!!

Play Day

As you can see Noel is growing!!! Her wing and tail feathers are growing. She is also getting taller. She had a soy sauce size dish for her food and it has to be refilled twice a day. What a PIG!!! LOL!!! We let her out for a little bit of play time today. She really enjoyed having a chance to run around and play. She even dared to see Gracie. Gracie thought the chick would have made a very nice snack, but we didn't let Noel get eaten. In two weeks Noel we be one month old, but I don't think she will be ready to go live with the other chickens yet.

Noel Update

Noel is eating and growing. Her wing feathers are getting longer and she now has some tiny little tail feathers coming in. She is 11 days old today. She seems to have adjusted to life in the make-sift incubator. She makes happy little peeping sounds most of the time, rather than the "help me I'm lost" cries that she used to make.

The Story of Noel

Well we have some VERY stupid chickens!!! Are hens are hatching chicks in the middle of winter due to the changes in the weather. Three chicks hatched on Christmas Day. Unfortunately The chicks can climb out of the chicken pen whether or not the door is open. Our guess is that the three chicks came out of the pen and got away for their mother. The mother freaked and left all of her chicks instead of trying to save some of them. When I went outside to feed the chickens and horses I saw the dead chicks and went back into the house to get some thing to put them in to get rid of the bodies. Two of the chicks were already stiff, but one chick moved!!! I brought the chick in and put it in a heating pad. As the chick warmed up she started to peek and run around. We saved a chick from a near death situation. Today the chick lives on!!!
