The Time is Near

Well, as you can see Noel is getting very big. She doesn't even seem like the small helpless chick that I rescued from an icy grave. She has grown and gotten stronger. Almost all of her feathers have come in and I have seen her fly once. Once she knows how to fly she will have to go back to her chicken family outside. The last thing for me and mom to do is get her a little more used to the cold weather. She is used to about 70 degrees, but it goes down to the 20's at night here. I am not going to put her outside until I think she can handle the cold. So over the next week or so we will make her box colder so she is more used to the cold when it is time to let her go. Unfortunately, I think once we put her out in the chicken pen she won't have anything to do with us anymore. None of are chickens care about us. They never come near us, but even if Noel decides to be that way it will be ok. At least I know I saved her life and raised her so she could have a nice chicken life.

she'll remember you, a little. not to be mean or anything, but they are birds and we all know the saying "Bird brain" (Which applies to many many of my coworkers) though she might think winter time is time to live indoors so next winter if you have a chicken trying to move indoors, at least you'll know it's Noel

LOL!!! Yeah I know chickens and all birds for that matter have no brain.
